Wendy DunaganCollege wasn’t an option for Wendy Dunagan when she graduated from high school in 1987 but she’s been attending classes part time at GCCC over several years. Wendy now has a sense of urgency to do something different before it’s too late.

“I’m trying to set a good example for my 12 year old son so he understands the importance of a college education and I’d like to graduate before my aging parents pass, I know it would make them proud! The Continuing Education Scholarship I received will help offset the cost of tuition and every little bit helps and is appreciated! I’m so close to earning that coveted document that opens doors. Thank you for your generosity!”

Dustin HopkinsDustin Hopkins, GCCC sophomore majoring in secondary education, chose GCCC because it was close to home and affordable. Dustin is a full time student and participates in Band, Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society and the Kansas National Education Association Student Chapter. He plans to graduate from GCCC in 2012 and transfer to a university to pursue his goal of becoming a high school history teacher.

“I remember receiving my first scholarship letter from GCCC; I was so excited about beginning my college education. The community college is a perfect choice- large enough for the college experience and small enough to care. I enjoyed my first year at GCCC and look forward to this upcoming year. Thank you for your support and believing in me, I’m one step closer to achieving my educational goal!”
